Caring for your jewellery
Hey there! We at Venu J know that you want to keep your forever pieces in perfect condition. The high quality of our products goes a long way in fulfilling that and to help keep your jewellery pristine it’s important to remember that our pieces are delicate and need a little TLC from time to time.
DO’S & DON’TS FOR YOUR JEWELLERY
Busy bees, we know that you’ve got a lot going on. You like to stay active, keep your home in order and ya know, take a bath. We’ve put together some guidelines for you while your sporting your new jewellery.
Water
Slip your jewellery off when washing your hands (or the dishes), showering or swimming. Water and chemicals, like chlorine, can affect the longevity of the gold plating, dull the Sterling Silver and make the gemstones look sad. Rings suffer from the worst wear and tear so these tips are especially important for them.
Sunlight
Keep jewellery out of the direct sunlight and definitely remove them while sunbathing. Extreme temperatures and UV Rays (side note: always wear SPF!) can cause gemstones to fade.
Products
Oh, and apply make-up, hair spray, any scents and moisturiser before putting on your jewels. All those chemicals can really change the nature of your pieces.
Cleaning
To clean your jewellery and restore its shine we recommend that you use a soft and dry 100% cotton or microfibre cloth to gently rub the surface.
Polish
Do not use a polishing agent or abrasive compounds as using these will wear away the layers of gold.
STORING YOUR JEWELLERY
Raise your hand if your necklaces get tangled. This is damaging to your jewellery and can cause it to wear and get all scratched up. Try and store your jewellery separately and, if you can, an air tight container to keep that tarnishing at bay!
